Hugo and Reynolds here! As you may remember, back when we lived in Sasebo, these strangers came and stole all our stuff while Dad sat by and watched! Well, those people found us and returned it all!!!!
So Sis and I knew something was up when Dad decided to pull out his grill and have a relaxing time on Tuesday evening. We should have known that a chill evening meant something was in store for the next day. But dang, my face says it all: I am over this loaner furniture!
Wednesday, August 23
So like Hugo was saying, we started our morning off with a nice nap on the crappy furniture but were awakened by the doorbell. After Mom locked us in the guest room, these people came and hauled off everything! While that loaner mess stunk, it was better than the cold floor! Brother and I are used to luxury!
Then Mom left us. Yep, you read that right, she left us to nap on the cold tile while she went and met Dad for lunch and then ate cake to celebrate the Navy Dental Corps 111th Birthday. During the ceremony, Dad got to speak since he is the youngest dentist stationed in Rota, and Mom got to feel really proud of him! He also got the honor of cutting the cake with dental floss, which Dad says sounds easier than it was!
But that wasn't all Mom did without us! She then got to be a real, legit patient in Dad's chair! She got to meet a lot of people who work with Dad while getting new dental x-rays and then Dad fixed the deep crevice on Mom's back tooth from drinking almost exclusively lemon-water. (Apparently, Dentist Dad said Mom needs to stop her habit of flavoring her water with acid...we will see if she listens!)
So after all this, Mom came home and then immediately locked us BACK in the guest room because another truck pulled in! Hugo was NOT happy about this...
Mom said our shipment was supposed to be delivered on Thursday, but the company called and asked if they could deliver it a day early. She may have still been numb from Dentist Dad's work, but she was able to sit outside and mark off box numbers while the delivery guys hauled in all our belongings!
When the movers unlocked the final crate, Dad made it home! He checked on us and then signed all the papers just in time for the delivery guys to leave! Then we were set free!
Thursday, August 24- Monday, August 28
Since the delivery was supposed to be Thursday morning, Dad had off Thursday to help Mom unbox everything! So while Sis and I napped on our much-missed furniture, Mom started organizing our house while Dad cleaned the floors and bathrooms in preparation for rug placements.
I don't know how Mom and Dad felt, but it was pretty exhausting to watch them work. Time blurred all weekend as they transformed this house into our home!
But don't worry, by Tuesday, Dad put the finishing touches on our home by hanging everything on the walls where Mom told him to. I mean, look at our new home!!!
Now we just need Gigi to redo our yard sign with our new distances since we have a yard to display it in!

House is looking great. One suggestion, turn the diningroom table the other way, put something under the mirror and a covering into the garage. Love the way everything looks and love the leaf runs in the downstairs bathroom. Your furniture fits in there really well and love Bryan's game room. Kitchen is my favorite with the tile going around and my bedroom turned out great. Now you can relax and enjoy it.
