Reynolds here!
This past week has been a stressful one.
Saturday & Sunday, April 15-16, 2023: The Prep
All weekend, Mom and Dad cleaned the entire house and washed EVERYTHING. Hugo's dog beds got taken apart and washed, Dad deep-cleaned the sofas and rugs and Mom started bagging everything we owned in plastic bags.
...all this made me really nervous...I'm not sure what's going on, but I know I don't like it!
Hugo was also a little nervous but he just followed Mom from room to room as she packed away our lives. All day Saturday and all day Sunday, Mom and Dad spent "prepping for movers," whatever that means.
All I understood was all my stuffed animals were washed and then packed away... I was left with, like, three toys. What the heck is going on!?!
Eventually, though, Mom and Dad were done and we got extra cuddles, peanut butter bones, and some good sleep. Don't believe me? Look at the picture Mom took of Hugo's nap!! That's some good sleepin' right there!
Monday, April 17, 2023: Unaccompanied Baggage
I thought the worst was over, but I was wrong.
The day started off great! We got to walk Mom to work! The bad part: Hugo thought Mom was never coming home and he cried the entire walk home. Dang Mama's boy. Dad said this was the first and last time we would ever escort Mom to work!

Then the day just went downhill from there.
Monday afternoon, FIVE strangers show up at the house and Dad locks Hugo and I on the patio! Then these guys start hauling off all our stuff and putting it on a moving truck! What the heck, Dad!? We are supposed to be GUARD DOGS. We can't do our job when you leave us locked on the porch!!!
Eventually, Mom made it home from work and joined us on the porch. We tried explaining that we attempted to stop these people, but she seemed ok with them hauling off all of our stuff. Then Mom explained that these movers were taking our "unaccompanied baggage" to our new home in Spain. Mom and Dad were allotted 800 lbs for this priority shipment that should make it to our new home in about a month or two, and they maxed out that 800 lbs limit with clothes and kitchen necessities!
By the time these people left our home, the bedroom and kitchen seemed much emptier...and the movers had left behind a lot of boxes. At least they are gone for good!
Tuesday, April 18, 2023: Household Goods
Nope. They weren't gone for good. They came BACK and Dad locked us on the patio AGAIN while the strangers took MY couch, MY dog toys, and everything else we own!!! They robbed us and Dad let them!!!
I mean, just look at Hugo's face- he's telling Dad exactly how he feels!

That's right, while Mom was away, Dad sat by and supervised these people take all our things!!! It was depressing and quite overwhelming. Thank goodness Dad distracted me with a hoof treat. Whew, that was yummy! Next time I looked up, the house was empty and Hugo was exhausted from whining...
Today the movers were here all day. They arrived at 9 am and didn't finish emptying our house until 3 pm. Mom came home to find a completely empty apartment!
But this disaster wasn't over yet. Then some other strangers came and gave us ugly furniture. I don't know why Mom and Dad traded for this crap. It's uncomfortable and moves when you jump on it... I miss our rugs....and toys...and treats.
Oh, don't worry, Dad didn't let them pack all the treats! Whew. We still have those.
Anyway, we are now living on, what Mom and Dad call "loaner furniture," and I am scared to death of it. My tail has been tucked for two days now and I am still scared to jump on any of it because it slides on the floor. I've been so stressed I got the runs. (Ok, Hugo said that was too much sharing- but you have to understand how stressed out I have been!)
Ugh. And to top it all off, the dreaded travel kennels have returned...Dad set them up in the office to torture us.
Mom and Dad were smart this time around and bought AirTags to place in both the UB and HHG shipments. Now they are able to track where their stuff is and get an estimate on when it will make it to Spain. I did hear Mom tell Dad that neither shipment has moved from the Japanese facility yet- so their hopes aren't high with a speedy move!

I'm not sure how long we have to live like this, but I'm already ready for it to be over! How much longer do we have until we move and get all our stuff back? I heard Dad tell Mom that the movers expected our things to arrive, at the latest, in September....how long until "September?!"
Your stressed-out girl,
