Reynolds and Hugo here!
With it being summertime, we figured it was time for us to take over the blog for another life update! This summer has started off great! Mom and Dad have enjoyed some traveling and we are eager to share some of what we have been up to as well!
You may remember Meghan adopted a puppy back in May! Mom and Dad have left us and returned smelling like this new friend...but we haven't had the chance to meet her since she was still needing all her puppy shots.
But I begged Mom for a playdate with Millie! I mean, how could Mom say no to this face?!

So eventually Miss Millie came over and I got to show her all my toys and puppy-wrestle with her! Mom may have had to remind me that puppy-wrestling and Hugo-werestling are different things. She also kept saying "Gentle Reynolds!" I think that just means I was being good and teaching Millie how to play like a real dog!
By the end of the night, I was exhausted and Millie had energy still to burn! Whew! Now I understand why Hugo got so grumpy with me when I first came home...but we had such a fun time and I can't wait for the next Millie playdate!
See, I even taught her how to tug! This is gonna be the best friendship ever!!!!
When not at work, Dad has spent some time at the golf course practicing his game! He's getting better with each round he plays with his friends RJ and Bhavin! He's just practicing for when Uncle Ryan and Poppy visit so he can show off all he's learned!

Mom and Dad enjoyed a few last dinners out with Ryan Twaddle- Dad's work friend who shares an office with him. Ryan has been a great friend to Dad and he's moving to South Korea to open a small Navy dental clinic near Busan! Between Melissa and Chirs Hamlin, Ryan Twaddle, and Mom and Dad, they can down some Margs and Tacos at Santa Catrina!
Back to what matters: Hugo and I! With the warmer summers and longer sunshine time, Dad has fired up the grill and made some yummy-smelling food! While we may not get any bites (terrible parenting, I tell 'ya!) it is always an awesome afternoon running around the yard while he works hard!
Speaking of days in the sun: Millie comes over for playdates pretty frequently! I will admit, I enjoy her company the older she gets. Reynolds loves having a playmate, and Millie has learned I'm the grumpy old man who needs his space. But sometimes, when she isn't paying me any mind, I will join in on the chasing fun around the yard!
Also, my favorite days are when Dad brings boxes home that smell like Gigi! When Sis and I smell a box from North Carolina, we know the goodies are for us! Sure, there are some goodies for Mom and Dad too, but the best part is the toys and treats sent for us!
Saturday, June 29: Bodegas Fundador
Then Mom and Dad left us at home and went with all our doggie-friends' parents to a bodega! You may remember, they visited a different sherry bodega in Jerez when Stego visited. Apparently, they had such a good time they decided to try out another sherry shop in Jerez!
Mom told us afterwards that they had a fun time but we all know they would have enjoyed it more with all the dogs in tow! They even went to a Japanese restaurant in Jerez for dinner; they came home smelling like our last home! I'm happy Mom and Dad have good friends to go out with and have a good time.
You know Mom isn't passing the summer weather indoors, so when the days are too hot for us to be outside, she leaves us in the cool inside of our home and takes off for the beach! She says it's her happy place!
July 12: Puppy Playdate at Bella's!
Remember our friend Mille? Well, Mom and Meghan were curious to see if she could swim, so they planned the BEST DAY EVER and we went over to Bella's house for a puppy playdate in her pool! Mom, Meghan, and Aidan enjoyed some quality girl time while all four dogs enjoyed playing in Bella's massive yard!
Eventually, the humans stripped down to their swimsuits and we got to swim!!!! It's been a while since Reynolds and I have had a chance to swim, and I was a little nervous at first. Once Mom pulled me in a few times, I got used to it and was jumping in full-force in no time! Reynolds even got tossed in a few times because she kept barking and hurting Mom's ears!
Eventually, the sun started to go down and I fell asleep sitting up...whew! That swimming took it out of me! Reynolds, Millie, and Bella enjoyed wrestling in the yard and chasing each other. On the ride home, Reynolds was so tired that she let Millie fall asleep on top of her! It was an amazing day!!
Millie did swim, but you could tell she didn't love water as much as me! As long as a ball is thrown in the pool, I am sure to jump in and retrieve it! Just look at how much fun we had:
July 14: Euros Final Spain v. England
While Hugo and I recouped from our amazing doggy playdate, Mom and Dad headed downtown to experience something called "the Euro Finals." From what we gathered, this is an important game where Mom and Dad watch on the TV while other humans kick a ball around a big field and compete for a cup.
Sometimes I really don't get humans.
They met up with their friend group at Kenthia, where they had an awesome time with Meghan, Aidan, RJ, Jaime, and Chris watching the game while surrounded by locals!
They came home around 1 am really excited and pumped explaining that Spain beat England 2-1! Hugo and I knew something was up because there was a ton of horn honking and screaming on the streets...we were wide awake and wondering what the heck was happening to all the humans!!! At least Mom and Dad had a good time!
July 15: Vet Visit
Sis and I have enjoyed two outings this summer to our Spanish Vet Office, Clinica Veterinaria Laguna Del Moral. As you may remember, leishmaniasis is a serious dog parasite along the Mediterranean, so in the summer we have to get double protection to keep the evil sand fleas from getting us! In June, we went and had our annual leishmaniasis shot! We also get a topical every month for added protection.
Then on July 15, we went back to the vet for our annual Rabies and Distemper vaccines. We always look forward to our vet visits with Christina and Ignacio! Those two vets give out treats galore! We always leave with a tummy full of yummy snacks. It also helps that Mom plans our visits for when Dad gets off work so he can join us for our appointments!
Other than that, we pass our time cuddled up on the couch and chilling at our house! We are some happy pups and we know how lucky we are!
Wags n' kisses,
Hugo & Reynolds
